what is the meaning of " I don't like the sound of that school food"?
I am reading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets these days and I've got a question when reading chapter 1.
It says ‘There’s more in the frying pan, sweetums,’ said Aunt Petunia, turning misty eyes on her massive son. ‘We must feed you up while we’ve got the chance ... I don’t like the sound of that school food ...’
What does " I don’t like the sound of that school food " mean? I don't understand the word "sound" here.

The aunt only heard a description of the food - she didn't see it. You could say it this way:'
"She didn't like what she heard about the food / She didn't like the description of the food that she heard."

'I don't like the sound of...' is a common expression and, yes, is strange when it refers to something that isn't about noise. You could say 'I don't like the sound of that movie' or 'I don't like the sound of life in prison'. It's used when all you have is someone's description. So you haven't yet seen pictures, or experienced it first-hand.
