How do you translate "입선" into English?
입선 is when you get awarded in a contest. it's not first or second prize but the one that is given to the most participants
I looked up the Korean English dictionary. and it says accepted.. but i want to clarify if that's right usage.
for example.
2000 미술대전 입선
2000 accepted in Art Contest ??

I just used google - an it said 'honourable mention'. That makes sense with your description - but your number confused me.
If you are you saying that (say) 50,000 entered the contest, 2,000 got an 'honourable mention', and (say) 20 got prizes, then that would be the right word. They got perhaps a certificate, but no prize money?
You would say '2000 were awarded an honourable mention' or '2000 received an honourable mention'.
If 2000 people entered, and all 2000 got something - that would be something different.
BTW - I use the British 'u' in honourable. You choice may be different.
