Does it mean I turned around and left you there?
This sentence is from a lyrics, they interpreted as you betaryed me.

It means that person #1 for some reason does not care any more for person #2 and plans to discontinue their association. Thus, "turn my back on you" lierally means to turn away from the person

To refuse to help someone .
These people are appealing to our government to help them. We can't just turn our backs on them.
