I have grown used to something.
Hello Gurus of English. I have a question to ask. There is a dialog. What does the construction "they have grown used to" mean?
PRESENTER: Have other people noticed the effects?
LYNNIE: Yes, they have. And they have grown used to my new look now.
I am used to dealing with "I am used to doing something and I used to do something ", but "used to + present perfect" is a bolt from the blue.
Thanks!!!

To say you have become 'used to' something in this context means you have accepted it,
" I did not like my hair at first but now I am used to it".
Or if you can't accept it
"I cannot get used to this weather"

Short and sweet - it simply means that with time the person/people have gotten used to something. ( whether they like it or not is not the issue )
