The difference between "slot" and "groove"
I saw two words "slot" and "groove", and when I looked them up, they had the same word in Japanese.
I searched further, and found a difference, but could you confirm if my understanding is correct?
If I am still wrong, could you please explain the difference?
Slot is a flat and narrow hole. It could be a hole where you can insert a coin or key.
Groove is a long cut. It could have curves. If you carve a line on a wooden plate, the line is a groove.
Am I still wrong?

You can also use 'slot' for time. If you were trying to arrange a meeting and were busy you might say 'I've got a slot free between 11 and 11:30'

That looks right. But also slot can be a period of time, like if you have a slot in your schedule. Groove is also something you have when you have good rhythm, like music can be groovy or if you're working or doing something that takes a while like painting a house, you can get in a groove.
