Mein neue Wagen oder Mein neuer Wagen? Hi everyone! I was studying German when I came across this sentence: "Gefällt Ihnen mein neuer Wagen?" In this sentence, is "neuer" the comparative form of the adjective? Because, as far as I know, "mein neuer Wagen" should be in the nominative in this sentence, so the comparative is the only explanation I can see for the ending -er here. If so, could I not use the comparative ("Gefällt Ihnen mein neue Wagen?") or it would just sound weird? Danke schön!

'mein neuer Wagen' is correct, and it is Nominativ. 'mein', as 'ein', does not show the gender, so the gender must be shown on the adjective: deR Wagen - neueR. In this case it is not comparative. Compare: dieser Wagen ist neu, der andere ist neuer (comparative) das ist ein neuer Wagen - das ist ein neuerer (comparative) Wagen That means if the adjective is before the noun it must show the gender, after the noun it doesn't.
