I Didnt Look at the watch and got late.does it make sense?
" I forgot to look at the watch" so I couldnt attend the meeting./ I was late
I dont know if my point is understood in English. If I had looked at tge watch I ' d have been in time.

It is understandable, but clumsy.
'I didn't look at my watch, and was late for the meeting' is better
or
'I didn't check my watch, and missed the meeting'.

You can also use the expression "watch the time", in which 'watch' is a verb.
For example - I wasn't watching the time so I was late.

You could also say, "I forgot to keep an eye on the clock, and I missed my meeting"
