[Turkish to English Translation] Am I translating this correctly?
Hi everyone,
Am I translating this Turkish sentence correctly?
- Vatan, bağrına bastığın evlatların gibi üstüne titrediğin.
I believe it translates to:
-- Nation, you were trembling like stressed children.
Willing to discuss!

It is from a poem I believe and not really easy to translate. I wish to see the correct translation too.
"bağrına bastığın" this is more like cuddle
"üstüne titrediğin" might be translated as coddle. Trembling doesn't look right here.
text means something like this: It is the nation that you coddle as you cuddle your own children
Not very helpful but wanted to answer :-)

--- like stressed children: stresli çocuklar gibi
--- you were trembling: titriyordun ('n' is 'you')
my translation is: Vatan, bağrına bastığın evlatların gibi üstüne titrediğin / motherland, you embrace it like it is your cherished children

Millet, stresli çocuklar gibi titriyordun.
//// full text would be more helpful because I think 'my nation' 'ulusum/milletim' would be more meaningful

A close translation could be:
The motherland, that you fall all over as if it's your babies whom you canoodle
