(A soccer team etc.) They didn't score and they lost the game.
They wasted all the opportunities they got.
They wasted all the opportunities they had.

Both are correct, you can use both.

I think the second one sounds better. I would probably use " They wasted all of the opportunities they had." You could also say "They wasted all of their opportunities".
