Definition 1 and 2 seem to be contradictory. How can I know which meaning it is in a sentence?

Think of it as something being so absolute that there is no need to say it expressly.
I think your confusion may stem from the Chinese translation "含蓄的." I think "implicit" and "含蓄的" are different concepts. To me, 含蓄 is used more to talk about a person's attitude, like when you want to scold someone but don't want to be too harsh. Similar to 委婉. There may be limited cases when implicit can be used this way, but I think it's usually not. I think if you look at a lot of example sentences you'll get a better idea of the concept.

Hello Gary. You know Chinese right? implicit一个意思是“含蓄的”,另一个意思是“无疑问的”。比如我说含蓄的说某事,是不是会有一点不确定,才含蓄的说?那就跟第二个意思相反咯?还是文化上有差异?西方人含蓄,但是也可以是很确定的?

I don't see how it is contradictory. They are both variations of the same idea. Can you explain in what way you think they are contradictory, and/or give an example where they are different?
