Dear native speakers of English, is the sentence correct and understandable? These results do not contradict the evidence of commonness of denominal verbs with metaphorical meanings in British business press which confirms our hypothesis.

I think the sentence would be clearer and more graceful as: The results do not contradict the evidence showing that denominal verbs with metaphorical meanings are common in the British business press, thus confirming our hypothesis.
