It depends on the context ;) For one sentence alone is 'Ich gehe in das Restaurant.' OK. but not OK is: Ich habe Hunger. Ich gehe jetzt in das Restaurant. here you have to write 'ins Restaurant'. but OK would be: Ich habe Hunger.
