Hi Trésor!
The verb "to elicit" means to get an answer or a reaction from someone else. I can be used both in the meaning of getting a response, as in example 1, and in the meaning of getting an emotional reaction from someone, as in example 2.
1 - The teacher elicited the correct answer from the students.
2 - The speech elicited an emotional reaction from the audience.

To "elicit" means to kindle, draw out or evoke strong feelings.
You could say, "The senseless violence shown on the t.v. program elicited a strong negative response".
OR
"Exposing such terrible poverty will elicit sympathy from viewers"
Hope this helps
