Какая разница между выселком и поселением?
Feel free to correct the grammar I used to ask this question if there are mistakes. For clarity, I wanted to ask: what's the difference between выселок and поселение?

For me as Russian prefix вы- works like out  or away (выселить -- to oust from a residence), поселить with prefix по- (or without it селить) means to settle. This works like in. Despite the выселок и поселение both are a settlement, there is a subtle difference linked with the prefixes' undertones.
