Hello. Do you enjoy your day? If yes, glad to hear that. Anyways while reading a book to my sister, I found a suspicious sentence whether it is right or not.
"That Marylou is some poet." from the book, Slugs in Love.
Yeah. She wrote some poems for her love but in this situation where a slug found one of her poem and said, it should have been "a poet" or "a good poet" or something like "That Marylou has some poet (ability)" not is. Could you explain me why the author wrote the sentence like that? Thank you so much beforehand. Have a great one!

The phrase "some poet" is colloquial and means that the writer thinks that Marylou is a very good poet. It is generally used when the writer admires the person or thing. "He sure is some tennis player!"
