in some sources they say it's become an outdated form and careless should be better used; some dictionaries say this word exists and can be used..

I never heard "uncareful" in my life, but I am a very modern person. I would use "careless' as most people never heard the other one either and would assume that it was wrong.

Careless is the right way to indicate that someone is not careful. Uncareful is the same, like irresponsible or careless, but is (almost) never used in real life. Sometimes it's just easier to stick to the commonly used words and phrases :)
