hit v.s take hit to
Hi
Would you tell me the difference between 'hit' and 'take a hit to'?
Boxers are more willing to hit and to take a hit to the head because of new equipment.

If I hit your head, I punch you in the head.
If I take a hit to the head, you punch me in the head.
I am more willing to take a hit to the head= I will do less to protect my head when we are fighting.
