I wish / if only
I wish this day hadn’t been the most awful in my life.
Is this sentence correct if we talk about the day which is not over yet? It’s still today but I think it’s the worst day of my life.

Yes, but I would say “of my life” and not “in.”

Yes, it works perfectly fine especially if it the end of the day.
