Is "does" correct or should it be "uses it"? If there are any other problems with this sentence, please let me know.

Both are correct. Often, English uses the modal verb “do” or “does” at the end of a sentence like this in order to avoid repetitive use of the preceding verb (here, the verb “to use”).
