Is this expression about "witness" correct? I am not certain if "The amount of visitors witnessed a dramatic increase" is right. Can it express that the number increase rapidly? Could you give me some suggestions? Thank you in advance!

'Witnessed' would be an odd word to use here. "The number of visitors saw a dramatic increase" would be one natural way of saying this.

"Witnessed" is correct here. It's not used often in this way in conversation, but it is quite common to see it this way in written form such as newspapers, journals, periodicals and other writing that can be more formal.
