use 替 as in English to mean "to substitute for / to take the place of / to replace / for / on behalf of / to stand in for".  替死, for example in the final scene of Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, Sinbad's friend, Prince Proteus taking Sinbad's place on the execution block.   替死鬼 = scapegoat. 替你辦事 = to act on  your behalf.

句型：A替B + V
（1）我替你做作业。（我做你的作业，你不用做作业）
（2）他替我买菜。（他帮我买菜，我不用买菜）
（3）他替我回答了这个问题。（他回答了这个问题，我不用回答这个问题）
2. 替 = 为 （B的感受不知道，主要说A的感受）
句型：A替B + 怎么样
（1）你的考试没考好，我真替你感到难过。（=我为你感到难过）
（2）你的比赛得了奖，我真替你高兴！（=我为你感到高兴）
