Yes. I'm not sure how obvious they are to non-Americans or non-native speakers, but Americans recognize many accents among ourselves. Are you asking about a particular person or a particular region?

To me as an outsider, yes, there appear to be many. There are regional ones, such as Southern, and New England. There are socio-economic ones such as preppy and valleyspeak, some of which seem to be transitory. There are also accents within ethnic subgroups, such as AAVE, and many native Americans also seem to have a distinct accent.
