A father is always a man, a parent can be a man or a woman.
A brother you have the same parents, a brother in law you are connected by either your spouse or your brothers spouse.
A nephew is male a niece is female.
A child is someone under the age of 18, an only child is someone without a brother or sister.
Hope this helps!
