Men tend to swear more than women, and they also tend to use more vulgar language. These days it is considered more acceptable than before for women to swear. However you must choose your time and place as swearing is generally not a good idea unless you are in certain company. I would certainly never recommend a non-native speaker of English to swear as you are likely to cause offense if you use them in the wrong way or at the wrong time and place (very likely).

Swearing is still considered rude and uneducated from both men and women, though you do hear it more in casual speech. Another thing to remember: swearing isn't the same around the English-speaking world.... I mean, using the same swear-word doesn't have the same effect everywhere. It's best to avoid using vulgar language (and slang) until you're absolutely, definitely sure it's OK with the people you talk to.

Most girls I know are always talking shit. Alright, serious now. Girls swearing is pretty much the same as men swearing. It is not a good idea for anyone to swear wherever they go. It is best kept internal and amongst friends.

In the West these days it isn't considered more unacceptable for a woman to curse or say, "Jesus Christ!" than it is for a man. For the most part, women are using this kind of language as much as men, and are not judged any more harshly for it than men are.

I am working at a university, and I'm always listening strong words among students, both men and women perhaps stronger words that "shit ", I think it's a new slang among young people. I don't like using a bad language in my conversation, and less in front of children.
