"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", as we say.b There are no hard definitions, but here's my take on these words: Nice - pleasant. Not amazing, but a good feeling without being overwhelming. Pretty - flowers are pretty! So use that in your thinking: bold and attention-getting but in a bright, light, sunny way. Beautiful - full of beauty. This is a sincere word, and probably the strongest of all these three words. It also tells me the appeal is inherent, not superficial.

Beautiful is the strongest adjective , then pretty, then nice. Pretty and beautiful are used mainly to describe a woman's physical appearence (not a man's). All 3 can be used to describe the way someone looks when they are dressed well. Nice and beautiful can also be used to describe a person's character.

I usually hear people use nice and beautiful when someone is dressed fancy for formal occasions and pretty for someone's natural apperance but otherwise I see them in this order beautiful>pretty>nice
