What does "to call in" mean?
Different dictionaries give different meaning: 1) to make a telephone call; 2) to come to smb. for a short time. So if I say, for example: "He called in yesterday" - what exactly will it mean for a native?

What is the best way to say "to come for a short time"?
Examples:
Let's ... to me, I'll take an ambrella.
... to your boss, he has something to tell you.
I'll be home a bit later, I want to ... to the store after work.
Thanks)
