‎ if someone is trying to convince you to do something (I mean I’m not referring to a physical thing like allowances etc) . Would that be normal to ask in every day conversation: “is that not your thing?” or native speakers do not talk this way and it would have to be only: “ is it your thing?” Thanks!

If I could tell that someone didn't want to do something that I suggested, I could say, and have actually said before, 'is that not your thing?'. Perfectly normal. If someone were trying to convince me to do something that I did not want to do, I could say, and have said before 'is that your thing?.' It would be strange to reverse them, in the examples I gave. Hope it helps
