Was it stupid of me to say that in front of them ? Within the children's hearing ?
Are they correct?
Thank you

Hi ☺️ , rather rephrase your sentences in such a manner:
Was it silly of me to say that in front of the children ?
This sentence suggests that that the children likely heard what you said , considering that you spoke in front of them - so you don’t have to mention “within the children’s hearing” , which is grammatically incorrect.
I hope this helps ☺️.
