This weekend I have a lot of things to do. I am going skiing with my friends, then we are going to eat at the restaurant that has recently opened next to our house. Also, I have to finish some work at the weekend. Work never ends! ~~~~~~~ This looks very good! Is the restaurant in the very first building to the left or right of your home? If so, "next to" is correct. If it is not that close, then "near" will be a better way to describe its location. For example, "A new Italian restaurant opened near our house. It is only a block away, so we can walk there very easily." Since you are now living in the United States, I'll mention that "at the weekend" is common in British English. Americans typically say "on the weekend", "during the weekend" or "over the weekend." But this is one of those little differences that does not affect our understanding each other :-) Nice picture! It sounds like it will be a great weekend.
