I thought you can get to your friends and talk about some subjects you're interesting, and exchange your opinions. You can inspire yourself by some trending topics on Weibo or some ted speeches.

Try finding some pictures to talk about. Pictures in a childrens' books are good. I am learning Portuguese and my teacher and I like to use puzzle pictures. "Find ten things wrong in this crazy picture." You can discuss many things about a picture. "What do you see?" "I see a boy, his mother, and a dog." "What is the boy wearing?" "The boy is wearing a green shirt." "What is the boy doing?" "The boy is crying." "How does the boy feel?" "The boy feels sad." "Why do you think the boy is sad?" "Because he dropped his ice cream on the ground." "What do you think will happen next?" "I think the dog is going to steal the ice cream."

Hmmm...I don't know you and I don't know your life, so I won't comment on whether it is boring or not, except to say that I have spoken to thousands of people and not yet found anyone who is actually boring, so I suspect that maybe your life is not boring either! ;-) HOWEVER, as a teacher I will give you this three bits of advice: 1. Don't say this to you teacher. Teachers are human (Honestly!) and our natural response would be to try to give you confidence that your life is not boring, and then give you lots of opportunities to talk about your life. It would be better to say "I prefer not to talk about my life." Any italki teacher should respect that and you can find other topics to talk about. 2. When we (teacher/examiners/authors of textbooks) choose for topics we try to find things that people know about and are interested in, because that generally makes it easier to practice English, and so we often choose "My Life" as a topic . IF you are studying for an exam you need to practice speaking about your life BUT in reality the examiner doesn't know you, so you can lie in the exam! It's probably best not to exaggerate too much, but the truth is that examiners don't really care about your life, they just want to know if you can communicate in English. 3. A person's personality doesn't change when they speak another language. Some people are naturally outgoing and talkative, others are not. You CAN try to improve your confidence about speaking in English, and all good teachers will try to help you do this, but ultimately you will still be you. But that's okay. If we were all the same that really would be boring!
