Hi! I’m Aline, a freelance Portuguese teacher with 15 years of experience helping students from all over the world communicate with confidence.
My passion for travel, music, and different cultures inspires me to create dynamic lessons using real-life situations and authentic materials — even samba or Brazilian recipes!
Having learned English in the U.S. and currently studying Spanish, I understand the challenges of cultural immersion and help you overcome them in a natural way.

I hold a degree in English and Portuguese, along with a TESOL certificate. I began teaching Portuguese as a foreign language in 2008 and have over a decade of experience teaching English to children, teenagers, and adults — both online and in person.
Over the past 10 years, I have taught both group and private classes. I spent 5 years working at a bilingual school, where I taught young children, and also worked for 2 years at a language school, teaching teenagers and adults.

I’m currently developing my own teaching materials to make learning more engaging and effective. I love incorporating videos, music, and authentic content into my lessons — and I often use role plays to practice everyday situations.

I'm currently taking a Master's degree in Portuguese as a Second Language Methodology. Very good teacher! My progress with Aline got so much faster thanks to her approach.
I like that she shares a lot of material with me also in between lessons and that she enjoys discussing about things related with Brazilian culture and heritage. Highly recommended

Overall, our lesson was very enjoyable and has motivated me to continue studying. Aline is very flexible with her teaching methods and has a lot of helpful resources. After learning some new vocabulary, we played some games to put the new words into practise. I felt that I gained a lot from the lesson and I'm looking forward to our next one!
