I adore the outdoor life through travelling, hiking and cycling and keep fit playing badminton and frisbeeing. I was lucky and travelled around the world for 2 wonderful years in 1992-93. My main interests are science and nature, history, reading, the arts and music. I recently returned to England after 12 wonderful years teaching English in China and Vietnam. Teaching became my passion because I have always loved interacting and conversing with people, and because ever learner is different, tutoring always remains fun and interesting.Показать перевод

When I took up teaching, I grew to love it and never looked back. With 20yrs experience teaching, tutoring and training in both the UK (8yrs) and Asia (12yrs), I have acquired and developed a wide range of teaching styles and techniques with material, dependent on students' levels and requirements. Knowing and understanding their needs, level and what motivates them has never been easier and more personal than with 1 to 1 online training. I am experienced in speech, reading, listening, comprehension, pronunciation, writing, grammar, exam prep, IELTS and conversation and Business English classes.Мои уроки и стиль преподавания
A relaxed teaching style, making learning a positive experience, set with a clear outcome in mind. While in Asia, I gathered a wide variety English learning material, for levels A2 to C1 lower Int' to Adv' in many topics and Business English. My preference is for pre-intermediate to advanced level students aged 11 and over. 1 to 1 teaching is my favourite teaching methodology because classes can be tailored and progressed for every individual learner, and learning develops quicker.Мой учебный материал

I really love Ian's classes. He has such a friendly and fun teaching style that makes me feel comfortable practicing my English. Also, his pronunciation is crystal clear—it's so helpful for me to listen to and learn from. He is not only a great teacher but also a very engaging person.

Ian is an excellent teacher, but I can´t praise him too much, otherwise he will be fully booked, and I won´t be able to find a slot for myself! :-D. He is witty, highly organized, entertaining and I truly enjoy every lesson with him. During lessons he shares his screen with me, he uses his own materials, which are always well-prepared.
