Profe José

This was my first time using Italki and I enjoyed it. Jose was filled with conversation and questions to get you talking. I need to work on listening and speaking. He was nice enough to write and help me to better pronounce the words but he did not make me feel like I was silly or anything. He is kinda funny to talk with.

Just finished an informal tudoring lesson with J Rios. He´s a good conversationalist, knows a lot about different areas of the world and is able to talk at length in an interesting manner. We did the whole lesson in Spanish.

I was a bit disappointed in this lesson. First, the lesson was only 30 minutes, but when the teacher joined, he didn't say anything for 4 minutes. He then messaged me to give him a moment. Once we got started, I thought he was going to put on his camera, but he never did. It was very bizarre. I had to talk to a black screen with a loud noise in the background. (Maybe a fan of some sort) I did have the chance to talk a lot, which was nice, and I asked him for corrections as I went. At the end, he provided no materials, just a link to wikipedia. Lastly, he told me I booked the wrong lesson and that for group lessons I had to bring my own people to the lesson so he would get paid more. I was unaware of this rule. Overall, not the best experience.

buena segunda lección

I had a great trail lesson and I’m definitely signing up for more. We tested out my level by testing out listening skills. The instructor said sentences in the present, past and future and I wrote them and corrected them. We spoke about my goals and he let me know his teaching style. He made it very clear and I’m looking forward to our future lessons.

He has not turned on his video for two sessions. He also just goes over the different ways to learn Spanish over and over. Made me think I finally found someone that can move me further than just crappy A1 Spanish. I asked to practice number 1-1000 and that never happened. He talks about how much he knows in English but doesn’t engage you with any Spanish practice.
