I just had my first session with this tutor, and it was great! Beforehand, I sent my approximate Japanese level, a list of topics I would like to talk about, and a list of current study materials. I was given a theme for our conversation picked from the list of topics I gave. I was also given a list of questions. These questions helped me prepare for the session as there were some specific terms that I wanted to use. It also helped calm my nerves since I had an idea of where the conversation was going to go. I was nervous before our session since it was our first one, but she was very fun and my nerves quickly subsided. She was good at continuing the conversation when I didn’t have much to say. Whenever I was thinking about how to say something, she would wait patiently for me to finish before repeating what I said with corrections which was very helpful. She created a friendly environment in which I felt comfortable making mistakes. I am very happy with my experience.

I've been studying with Satoko-sensei for a while now, and she's always on time, well-prepared, and makes a document for me with any words or phrases I don't know.
