I am preparing to visit Japan in the future and want to be able to feel confident speaking in different situations, ゆみ先生 created a roleplaying scene (checking into a hotel) for me and we went over vocabulary , common phrases and then roleplayed the scene. It was extremely helpful for me! She explained many different types of situations and alternative ways the person might say different phrases, as well as what is polite or impolite to say.

今日のレッスンは楽しかった。ゆみ先生は私にお寺とお神社のマナーを教えてくれました。そして、日本の仏教とシンガポールの仏教の違うことの話をしました。今日はたくさんのことを勉強しました。ゆみ先生のレッスンをいつも面白いので、楽しみにしています。10回のレッスンをありがとうございました。次のレッスンを楽しみにしています！ Today's lesson was fun. Yumi-sensei taught me about mannerisms at Shinto shrines and Buddhism temples. We also talked about the difference between Buddhist temples in Japan and Singapore. I learnt a lot today. Lessons with Yumi-sensei are always interesting, so I always look forward to them. Thank you for the past ten lessons. Can't wait for our next class!

I highly recommend Yumi sensei, who has been very patient, engaging, and supportive throughout my learning journey. Every lesson is well-prepared and thoughtfully structured. She uses a variety of materials, including article readings, YouTube videos, and conversation practice, which keeps each session fresh and interesting. She always encourages me to share my thoughts in my own words, which helps me practice forming my own sentences and build confidence in using Japanese in real-life situations.

This is my second lesson with ゆみ先生. She walked through conversational patterns and useful phrases as well as helped walk me through JLPT N4 practice questions, which is going to help me substantially throughout my upcoming lessons as this is my first time learning with a Japanese tutor. I am looking forward to studying to prepare for next lesson! ありがとうございますゆみ先生！
