My name is Mikhail, but my friends call me Mike. I've been studying linguistics and foreign languages for many years, and I've been using the Italki platform for about four years now. I'm a native Russian speaker, born and raised in Orel—a city not far from Moscow, near Belgorod.
Currently, my wife and I live in the beautiful city of Saint Petersburg, where we enjoy nature, ride our bicycles, and work remotely as freelancers. In my free time, I play musical instruments such as the piano and guitar, and I also sing—a passion that comes from my years of playing in a rock band. My teaching style is mainly communicative. Being in a student's shoes, I can say that it is the best strategy to learn a foreign language—through communicative scenarios, role-plays, and gamification! I truly believe that even adult students can enthusiastically engage in language-based games that help improve memorization of studied vocabulary.
