Today we had a bit of detour chatting about films, especially the works by director 홍상수. Then we continued with the discussion about Korean politics. Great time as always!! Glad to have met Hyeongyong sseam.

Once again, 현영, my Korean language teacher proved to be an excellent teacher of the Korean language. Today I had my third lesson with 현영, and as with the two previous lessons, she was a fantastic teacher. As the lesson progressed, she wrote what we were talking about and explained in her notes what the meaning of the Korean words were and explained the subtle nuances of the different words. And, when I didn't understand a concept, she explained the concept in different ways until I understood. She also allowed me to ask questions and answered my questions in ways that I completely understood. IMHO, she is an excellent teacher of the Korean language and the best Korean language teacher that I have ever had.

Today we continued to discuss Korean politics based on a symposium minutes that we didn't finish last time. We also chatted about sseam's recent trip and shared our experience about travelling. It's also such a pleasure to talk with Hyeonyoung sseam. Kamsahamnida!!

We had a good talk about the Korean novel "My Father's Liberation" today. In between we also talked about my previous experience with organizing overseas study trips for my students. Good practice of spoken Korean and I am looking forward to the detailed set of transcript/notes that sseam provides every time after class!!

I am very pleased with my first lesson. 현영 is a very knowledgeable teacher, and I really enjoyed learning with her.

오늘은 현영 선생님과 함께하는 첫 수업이었어요. 저는 수업 전에 선생님께 제가 가장 좋아하는 주제에 대해 말씀드렸고, 선생님께서는 관련 자료를 준비해 주셨어요. 수업 때 정말 재미있는 이야기를 나눴어요. 특히 일본 식민지 한국에서 발전한 음악 장르에 대해서 이야기했어요. 저는 말하기 실력이 좀 부족한데, 선생님께서는 큰 도움을 주셨어요. 다음 수업이 엄청 기대가 돼요! 감사합니다~
