My progress with Helen over the past 4 years has been really surprising to me personally. I started from zero Chinese and I am on the verge of starting HSK-5 at this point, and as an older learner (I am approaching 60), Helen's methods and patience have been little short of amazing. As a professional translator, it gives me no end of pleasure to have started translating some quite complex materials into English. Now that I am having to analyze texts and render Chinese into legible English, I am really seeing the benefits from Helen's approach and the great foundations she has laid already. 谢谢你田老师！我很期待和你一起开始五级，有一天我会学会中文 ;-)

I've been really enjoying my lessons with Helen so far. She's very knowledgeable, patient, and good at explaining things. She's also very good at adapting and being flexible. I have some Chinese knowledge from previous lessons which is semi-remembered/forgotten. During our lesson's she's gone off-script and away from the textbook to incorporate other words which I know and adjust the difficulty level to suit my personal needs. Lesson's with her are always one of the highlights of my day, thank you so much :)

Helen is a patient teacher! Today we focused on practicing tones. I appreciate the in the moment feedback she provides so I can correctly pronounce words!

I love that Helen always encourages me to speak more Chinese. During class we follow a textbook but we also have conversations about different topics. She also incorporates new vocabulary. I enjoy her classes a lot and I always learn something new in each class. For those of you that also study writing, Helen knows a lot about characters and how they are formed and their meaning.
