Andrina

Andrina is the best teacher I have found. I have worked with many spanish teachers, on this platform and on others. Most are good, some are great but Andrina is the best. She is rigorous and critical, but at the same time she is patient and kind. This is what you need to progress through the learning process. Learning a language is hard, but teaching a language is harder. You need a teacher who is prepared for every lesson, and willing to do the work necessary to take you through the language. Andrina does this seemingly effortlessly. It seems effortless because she has true mastery of spanish, and she has a mastery of english. She understands the nuances of each language and she is able to teach these nuances clearly. At a certain point in your language learning journey you are going to have to decide if you are willing to work to achieve fluency, and when you are, come to Andrina.

I have completed more than forty lessons with Andrina over the last several months, and I plan to continue taking her classes well into the future. I have had many Spanish teachers over the last several years, and Andrina is (by far!) the best teacher I have had. For the first time, I am making measurable progress toward fluency, and I owe that to Andrina´s excellent teaching. Every class, Andrina reviews my homework, discusses any mistakes I have made, offers mini lessons within the homework to explain the logic behind the corrections, practices conversation with me, and discusses how we will move forward with the next lesson. The homework is always interesting and helpful, and it often teaches me something new about Mexican culture and traditions. Her explanations of grammar, vocabulary, and colloquial spanish are always clear and memorable. And, the best part for me is that conversation with Andrina is wonderful! Andrina is the best!

Today Andrina patiently and thoroughly taught the VERY NUANCED differences between ser/fue/era/estar/estuvo/estaba/hubo/habia. I learned a ton...this is very tough concept for native English speakers learning Spanish, so I GREATLY appreciate Andrina showing me this grammar concept. Like I said previously, this is where you need to be, right now, to learn Spanish. You will not regret it. You will learn a lot and you will learn quick if you commit to the work and studying. Andrina is a highly skilled teacher, she earns the highest rating possible as a Spanish teacher.

Andrina is a wonderful teacher who has added structure and variety to my Spanish learning journey. She is always prepared for our sessions and uses a combination of conversation, reading, writing, and grammar practice to create a well-rounded and fun learning experience (often incorporating content about different cultures of the Spanish-speaking world). She is very attentive and patient, providing corrections in the moment and structuring lessons based on where she sees that I need more practice or clarity. Highly recommend!

He aprendido un montón en las 23 clases que he tomado hasta ahora. Me gusta mucho la variedad de temas y tareas, y creo que hay un equilibrio perfecto entre aprender gramática y mejorar mi conversación. Siempre estoy emocionada por mi próxima clase con Andri.
