Derrick is truly a gem. He is such a wonderful and patient teacher. He goes above and beyond with every lesson -- he puts in so much time outside of our classes to prepare for our sessions. He also provides optional homework and many different resources to help me practice and refine my learnings. I really appreciate the effort and look forward to the next class!!

Derrick is a very thoughtful and dedicated teacher. He is patient and has a lot of enthusiasm when it comes to teaching Japanese. His lessons are well thought out and planned, would highly recommend him.

Derrick is an amazing tutor! He is super knowledgeable and takes the time to meet you where you are. He came prepared with a lot of material which made me excited to continue to learn!! Overall, he is a great teacher that I’d recommend to other students.

Derrick is an amazing teacher! The class was extremely well structured -- customized to my abilities. He is very intentional with the material, scaling up and down based on your comfort. He creates a really safe environment which makes me less nervous to make mistakes.
