I had a trial lesson with Ken J as a beginner in German. Although I had studied German at the A1 level, I had never actually spoken it before, so I was quite nervous. Ken J was very patient and made me feel comfortable, encouraging me to speak even simple German words and phrases. He adjusted the lesson to my level and helped me in English whenever I got stuck. Overall, he created a calm and supportive atmosphere, and I really enjoyed the lesson. I would definitely recommend him to other beginners!

Ken is an amazing teacher! He does a great job at personalizing his lessons for his students, and provides valuable feedback. He also teaches things you will hear from native Germans in casual conversation, not just book German. As well, he gives great advice for travelling to Germany! I would highly recommend him!

Ken came to our session ready with a plan for role playing. I appreciate that he lets me speak for a bit and then gives corrections in a natural way/flow. He is considerate of the context in which I want my goals to be met and always asks at the end of the lesson what I am still hoping to learn in the next lesson so he can incorporate it into the plan. It is great to work with Ken and very worth your time and money!

Ken has been an incredibly engaging and thoughtful teacher who is making my early German language journey as comfortable as it is productive. I do not consider myself one for whom language acquisition comes without apprehension and hesitation but Ken has guided me through every lesson with intentional building blocks to help me grow a basic competence as well as confidence.

Lessons with Ken are absolute pleasure. My level of German is low, but he always chooses the words and adjust his speaking pace so that I can understand him. He's very encouraging and motivates me not to be afraid of speaking and making mistakes.
