Olá! Meu nome é Belkis, sou brasileira e atualmente moro na vibrante cidade de São Paulo. Como professora de português com 6 anos de experiência, tenho o prazer de ajudar estudantes iniciantes e intermediários a desenvolverem confiança na comunicação, especialmente na fala. Minhas aulas são descontraídas e focadas em situações do cotidiano, tornando o aprendizado natural e divertido. Sou uma pessoa extremamente ativa - adoro praticar esportes ao ar livre, especialmente quando posso estar na praia em contato com a natureza, que é onde recarrego minhas energias. Meus interesses são variados: desde meditação e filosofia, que pratico regularmente, até esportes de todos os tipos.

I feel quite lucky to have a teacher like Belkis to lead me overcome the language barrier at the very beginning of Portuguese learning. I just self-study Portuguese one month ago, and it made me quite confused in terms of pronunciation and grammar. Belkis knows what me care about and prepare the detailed teaching materials for each lesson. I can follow her lesson systematically and can ask any questions at my own pace. Belkis helps me to enlarge my vocabulary and practice a lot during the lesson. You will be impressed by her professional teaching skill and beautiful smile.

Belkis is hands down the best Portuguese teacher I have had. Although it may seem like a cliché, the key to language acquisition is to talk, talk and talk. And with Belkis, I am able to discuss and express my thoughts freely in Portuguese without having to feel constrained by my own limitations or feeling judged. In this lesson, Belkis asked me some questions that get me to think and formulate my thoughts in Portuguese on a deeper level that allows me to converse about subjects that are very profound and meaningful to me--and this motivates me a ton. After I finish the thought, Belkis corrects me and provides me with examples of how I am able to use certain words or grammar structures more naturally. This method of teaching allows me to absorb certain grammar structures/patterns and vocabulary in a much more productive way than through a textbook. I can literally feel my Portuguese improving with each lesson; if you want this same experience, book a lesson with Belkis!

It is always so enjoyable conversing with Belkis! Belkis allows me to articulate my thoughts (no matter how slow I am at speaking!) and kindly provides feedback and corrections after I finish my thought. The conversation always flows and we are able to connect very easily. I HIGHLY recommend Belkis as your next Portuguese teacher if you are looking to improve your Portuguese!
