*Привет!* I’m Maryna, a certified Russian teacher with 10 years of international experience—from Ukraine to the Middle East—now based in Montreal. I specialize in helping beginners (A1-B1) build strong foundations and guiding conversationalists (A2-C2) to fluency with confidence. My lessons blend practical vocabulary, cultural insights, and lively discussions—inspired by my multilingual background (Ukrainian, English, French, Arabic). Я вижу свою профессию как способ общаться с людьми, обмениваться мнениями и мыслями, открывать для себя новые миры и становиться более реализованной и толерантной личностью.
Мои краткосрочные цели заключаются в том, чтобы дать моим ученикам практическую лексику и грамматику, а также много разговорной практики. Свои долгосрочные цели я вижу как путешествие к самопознанию моих учеников и меня самого через призму изучения нового языка. Я хочу, чтобы мои студенты поняли свои стили обучения, вкусы и предпочтения в жизни, а также развили энтузиазм в определении приоритетов и достижении своих жизненных целей. In my lessons, I follow the principle “Learn a little, practice it a lot”. I let my students talk 80% of the time during the lesson. The remaining 20% I devote to teaching and presenting instructions. Such a structure of a lesson helps me make Comprehensible Input so that learners gain new knowledge while having plenty of opportunities to practice, make mistakes, acquire new concepts, and gain confidence at the end of the process. My teaching style is based on the concepts derived from the Communicative approach (1980) as well as the Audio-Lingual (1940) and the Comprehension (1980) approaches.Мой учебный материал

Having had many lessons with Maryna I can say with certainty she is a really talented teacher. She really has a knack for knowing exactly what needs to be pushed forward, what needs reviewed, and what concepts are probably new to me. She somehow makes every lesson fun and her encouraging and upbeat teaching style makes a tricky language feel very attainable to learn.

Maryna speaks fluently in English and Russian, and Ukrainian to boot, seamlessly in a way which facilitates learning and exhausts the mind. Do not sign up if you are not serious about learning. But do sign up if you are serious and need a kick in the a**. Maryna takes her work seriously and will help your language progress, without a doubt.

Maryna is an excellent teacher. Our first lesson was wonderfully planned out and executed. We covered quite a number of important topics in one hour. She is a friendly and caring individual. I am so glad we met. Thank you. Most of all, I appreciate how she tailors the lesson to my pace and we learn the material at a pace I can understand and that I am comfortable with. It really helps me to grasp concepts better.
