I had German lessons with Jerome to prepare for an important appointment requiring B1 speaking level. When we started, I was around A1, but after 20-30 lessons with him, I was able to speak confidently and complete my appointment successfully. Lessons with Jerome are fun and engaging. I had my first lesson with Jerome this past week, and I have to say: What a pro! Within 15 minutes of easygoing conversation, he had (1) assessed my level, (2) identified a grammatical mistake I had been making, and (3) pulled up materials that illustrated the relevant grammatical rule. He then created a brief "call and response" activity where we traded example sentences using the rule. I left the lesson knowing exactly how the rule functioned and with materials to study to boot—just phenomenal!

I had 30 one-hour lessons with Jerome over seven months, and during this time my speaking skills improved significantly. I still make mistakes and sometimes forget words, but I can now speak confidently on a wide range of topics. With his help, I prepared for and successfully passed the Goethe B1 exam, achieving a strong score in the speaking section (91/100). We practiced the speaking part several times before the exam, which helped me feel confident and well prepared. Jerome adapts his lessons to the student’s needs. He analyzed my typical mistakes and created a personalized curriculum that noticeably reduced my errors. When I asked for help with pronunciation and accent reduction, I was impressed by his clear and precise explanations. A large part of the lessons is devoted to conversation. I usually speak around 50–70% of the time, which greatly improved my fluency compared to group classes. I highly recommend Jerome to anyone who wants to improve their German.
