I hold certifications in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from both the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and Instituto Cervantes. With over 3 years of experience in online teaching, I have accumulated hundreds of hours guiding students in learning Spanish. My specialties are Spanish for beginners and for travel purposes. I believe that the key to learn a language is to use it right from the start, even if you don’t have any previous knowledge of Spanish.
I adopt a communicative approach aiming to make your learning journey as enjoyable and easy as possible. I see language as building blocks, enabling students to gradually progress from individual words to complete sentences. I prioritize speaking skills initially and then introduce grammar and new vocabulary in a more natural and intuitive manner.

Miguel was kind enough to hop on and meet with me after I missed our scheduled time to meet. I liked that he told me my errors and what I needed to fix at the end rather than throughout the call. This let the conversation get into a flow and rhythm, which I think helps boost confidence as a non-native speaker. Highly recommend him if you're looking to improve your conversational skills!

As an adult learner, Miguel was an excellent choice as my first teacher. He brought with him patience, humor and a historical knowledge of Spanish that was incredible. His communication and teaching is very fun and casual, while still professional and efficient.
