I have been learning Italian on and off for a few months, trying different online tutors and language learning apps with mixed results. I finally found Valeria who immediately demonstrated a much more thorough approach to language learning, and has helped me quickly improve my level in Italian in the few weeks I have been taking classes with her. Valeria follows a more holistic approach to language learning covering listening, speaking, reading and writing (most other online tutors have an unbalanced focus on oral conversation). Also unlike most other online tutors, Valeria covers a decent amount of grammar and conjugation with the student, but does so progressively to not overwhelm the learning process. Valeria shares a sizeable set of materials which she goes through during her classes, giving the opportunity to go over the material in my free time to review any points from the class. If you are serious about learning Italian, I highly recommend you book a class with Valeria.

I have really enjoyed my lessons with Valeria. She has a great demeanor as an instructor and is able to adapt each lesson to the student / skill level. I find her to be very relatable and easy to talk to, which makes the conversation more comfortable for a new learner. Highly recommend!

Very good first lesson!

I have been taking lessons with Valeria for about 6 months, after having completed the Duolingo Italian program. At first, I had a lot of trouble understanding basic sentences and expressing myself, but over time I’ve become able to hold simple conversations and discuss topics for an entire hour. Valeria is extremely patient and supportive and adapts her lessons and homework to the areas I most need to develop. I’m genuinely pleased and surprised how quickly my language skills are developing and happy that I chose to study with Valeria!

This lesson was great as I told about my travel that I did. It was nice to practice speaking while telling about vacations in other countries. We were able to exchange pictures and talk through it. Very entertaining lesson.

My teacher used articles about various cities and topics in Italy as the basis of our conversations. She asked me questions and I elaborated on the various topics I had read about. We engaged in normal natural conversation which I found useful in preparing for an upcoming trip to Italy, She also utilized photos and other materials she had prepared to help generate conversation and learning. Our sessions were always engaging and useful.
