Sofia

Sofia is a gem of a teacher! I am genuinely so excited to have lessons with her each week! I am speaking so much more Greek as a result. With many mistakes, of course, but always corrected with a smile! My goal is to banish my shyness in speaking and be able to speak more to my great aunt in Athens when we visit her for Easter holidays. Sofia is absolutely helping me with this!

Sophia is very accommodating and she really took the time to tailor future lessons to my goals, interests, and pace. Really appreciated this. She clearly has a love for the Greek language, philosophy, and literature. Looking forward to exploring the Ancient Greek language with Sophia!

I have enjoyed a series of lessons with Sofia in preparation for an extended visit to Greece. During the lessons, we reviewed and consolidated previous knowledge, practised speaking and reading and filled in gaps, while also extending my knowledge and understanding of the language. Sofia was always well prepared and responded to my specific linguistic interests and needs. She suggested exercises I could do independently and was helpful when reviewing any work I completed. She is conscientious, knowledgeable and professional with a lightness and enthusiasm which is highly motivating.

I’ve been doing lessons with Sofia since March 2024. Sofia is incredibly patient and caring while I’ve been learning Greek. Sofia and I have bonded over our Greek upbringings and had many laughs while storytelling. Sofia provides me with the necessary materials and resources in order to improve my Greek on a weekly basis. I’m very happy with my choice in choosing Sofia as my Greek tutor. I look forward to my weekly sessions and have seen my Greek improve in such a short amount of time!

This was our first lesson with Sofia and she demonstrated superb communication skills and an eagerness to help teach my 11 year old son to prepare for an upcoming trip to Greece. I look forward to more lessons to gain more understanding of Greek culture!
