Classes with Steff are a joy. I can be very timid, especially about making stupid mistakes in front of someone (and as a new learner, I make a lot of them!). This used to be terrifying for me. But I’ve found it’s really ok to make silly mistakes with Steff because he isn’t judging that. I never thought I’d say it, but sometimes now those mistakes are even fun because they lead to fits of laughter from both of us! These classes are a blast. My next class with Steff will be number 50, and I can see the progress I’ve made. I definitely couldn’t have done it on my own. He’s a great teacher - patient, easygoing, smart, helpful. He makes this fun. If you’re looking for all of that and more, he’s the one.

My lessons with Steff have been such a joy! He strikes a great balance between free-flowing conversation and correction, while offering super useful suggestions on word choice/formulations that have helped my German become more natural and idiomatic. Teaching online is so difficult, but Steff is able to foster the type of welcoming, friendly and fun atmosphere that is ideal for language learning. Steff's lessons are highly personalized, and can be as structured or as spontaneous as you like. It has been a true pleasure working with him!!

I have been looking for a German tutor since I went through grammar and self-study. I decided I needed someone who could help me break the barrier and start speaking German. After 13 lessons, I can now confidently say that our lessons have been helping me tremendously. The first two lessons were focused on understanding where I should begin, and once we had established that, we could fully concentrate on improving my German in each session. After 13 sessions I can already see the improvement, and I will definitely continue with these lessons at least until I reach the desired B2 level in speaking and writing. Miroslav

I've been taking lessons with Steff for several months. He is patient, kind, and fun, important qualities in a teacher. He’s a careful listener and provides constructive feedback. He gives suggestions on more natural ways to express myself. I make countless mistakes, sometimes the same mistakes I’ve already made, and I can become flustered by my errors. Yet Steff remains a calm and humorous influence and I tend to end up laughing over my German language missteps. I most enjoy that Steff teaches me how to speak German like a German. We don’t use canned textbook phrases so the language sounds more natural. Before taking classes with Steff, I took a three month course at the Goethe Institute. I have learned more in less time with Steff than I did in that course. I look forward to improving my German language skills and being able to have more complex discussions. I highly recommend this German teacher! He is patient, professional, and explains even complex grammar in a clear and easy-to-understand way. Every lesson is well structured and tailored to my needs. Thanks to his guidance, I have made significant progress in a relatively short time and gained much more confidence speaking German. He has helped me prepare for job interviews in German, always providing constructive feedback, practical examples, and constant encouragement. Learning with him has been both effective and enjoyable.
