Great impression after the first lesson 🎓

Raquel is a very competent language teacher and I'd recommend her without hestitation to anyone wanting to learn European Portuguese. She's well organised, clever, empathetic, she's always able to keep the lesson productive and flowing and she's got perfect English. Nothing not to like. Would recommend.

Raquel was able to accommodate 2 unprecedented lesson time changes. She showed up on time and was present for the entire lesson time. I did feel she could have spent a bit more time establishing rapport and making me feel comfortable as a student, as well as correctly identifying my language level. We just dove right into it; she pulled up a document to note my errors two minutes into talking, and this just made me super nervous from the jump. The lesson then consisted of the teacher asking me a string of questions and follow-ups that, to me, felt overly personal. I also felt lowkey judged for some of my answers. She also sometimes gave explanations in English, which I would have appreciated (and understood) in Portuguese. Overall the vibe was neutral and somewhat professional, but also not particularly friendly or encouraging. The whole lesson just felt invasive overall.

Each lesson I take with Ms Raquel Reis makes me be more interested in learning; as a matter of fact, I do learn a lit for one class. This why I want to keep taking classes with Raquel. Also, a nice person and teaches with enthusiasm.
