Yukari

After the trial and first lesson I can say I greatly enjoy Yukari-san Sensei's teaching style. I like to learn by trying even if I fail, I have been allowed to take my time to enunciate the words even if I have to do it slowly. Giving me feedback if I need help or after I'm done my attempt whether I got it right or wrong it's a big thing for me. She smoothly repeated new words that maybe I had to slow down to say or got wrong to help reinforce how it should sound. The structure of the lessons so far show a clear flow of how your building skills upon skills to form more complex sentences. But more than Yukari-san herself is lively and makes the lessons fun and entertaining, laughing while learning is a great combination to make this experience very enjoyable!

I’ve taken thousands of hours of classes with several teachers on iTalki. Yukari 先生 is the most engaging, professional and fun teacher I’ve met! As a veteran language teacher myself, I appreciate how much hard work Yukari 先生 has put into perfecting her lesson materials with rich visuals and well-structured practice which helped me to master the grammar structures and key vocabulary easily. Moreover, I admire how Yukari 先生 always shows up with the brightest smiles and her laughs are contagious. She’s very empathetic and pays close attention to details. She tailors the lessons according to my needs. For example, I tend to forget the new vocabulary, so Yukari 先生 adds the vocab review frequently to reinforce my learning. She also tries to speak almost 100% Japanese that is comprehensible to me since I was a beginner. I look forward to every lesson with Yukari 先生! If you’re a beginner or want to practice conversation, Yukari 先生 will help you reach your goal while having lots of fun!

I just completed my first full lesson!My face hurts from laughing. I really appreciate the level of nuance that Yukari先生 explained. She worked hard to help me with responses that are accurate to my life but are not covered by the textbook. This made the lesson feel immediately useful. She was patient and gave me time to process expressing something I was stuck on. She checked in regularly to ask if I had questions. Before ending the lesson, she provided a clear overview of what to expect next time. I look forward to it! In the meantime, I feel very motivated to do a bit of listening, shadowing and practice because of the clear plan and pace Yukari先生 has set. I feel confident that I’m taking the small important steps to reach my big goal. ゆかり先生、ありがとうございます！ がんばりましょう！

Studying with a Yukari sensei through "Nihongo Fun and Easy " was an amazing experience, especially because I started from zero in Japanese!! Yukari-sensei was attentive and went above and beyond in her teaching process to provide an engaging and fun experience. I immediately noticed a significant improvement in my Japanese skills, and I was thrilled! Her helpful feedback and extra resources outside of class were valuable and will help me on my next trip to Japan. I cannot recommend Yukari enough to anyone seeking to enhance their language abilities. Don't hesitate to give it a try!

I was pleasantly surprised that Yukari先生 searched for a newer term specific to me based on our last session. I am grateful for that level of attention to detail and thoughtfulness. This has given me more confidence that I can accurately speak on my real life experiences. During our lesson, I know Yukari先生 gives me feedback but I didn’t feel embarrassed. I just feel like she really helps me do better and be determined. She gives me time to process my responses, as well as a gentle reminder that I can ask for help. We also went off script and expanded the conversation depending on my interest. I’m so happy that by our second lesson, I can already have a simple conversation. I’m slow to express some things but I know I will get better with Yukari先生’s support!

I just finished my trial class! Before my class, I spent HOURS going through teachers on iTalki. My choice in reaching out to Yukari先生 was based on objective parameters I set for my search AND positive gut feelings from her introduction video. I sent a message explaining my goals and some questions. She was very gracious in her response. During the lesson, she made me feel at ease. Her energy helped give me a lift even after a long day of work. At the same time, her energy wasn’t overwhelming. In my job, I observe a lot of details in people. In practicing some words with Yukari先生, I never detected any judgment when I felt I sounded awkward. She gently helped me improve my pronunciation with one word and I didn’t feel embarrassed or anything at all because I was so at ease. ゆかり先生、ありがとうございます! またね！
